Will Taylor is a fine artist and printmaker.  He favours traditional line techniques in etching, pen, charcoal and silverpoint, and his work always contains a strong element of drawing.  Recurring themes in his work are animals, vernacular buildings and the natural landscape.

He was born in 1963, grew up in Liverpool and qualified as a Mechanical Engineer at Imperial College, London. After a career that culminated in leading projects around the world for an international Management Consultancy, in 2001 he returned to his first passion of art. He attended short schools at the Slade School of Fine Art and Kent Institute of Art and Design but otherwise is predominantly self-taught.

Will works from his home studio in Rye, East Sussex.  In February 2011, Will was elected President of the Society of Graphic Fine Art.

Will’s work can currently be seen at the Northcote Gallery, Battersea London.

The Society of Graphic Fine Art

The Society of Graphic Fine art was founded in 1919 and its inaugural exhibition was held in 1921, supported by members of the Royal Academy of Arts together with many of the leading draughtsmen of the day.  One of the early Presidents was Sir Frank Brangwyn.  Today the Society has a membership of over 100 mainly professional artists and, amongst other events, holds an annual Open Exhibition in London.

The Society exists to promote fine drawing skills whether with brush, pen, charcoal, conté or any other form of original printmaking.
